More Progress on Sandy Springs
Paintings

So far, I’m quite happy with how the reflections are turning out! Now, if I could just wrap my mind around how the King & Queen Towers are shaped…
Sandy Springs – More Progress
Paintings

Ah yes, more progress on the King & Queen Towers! These buildings are definitely the highlight of going to Sandy Springs.
As you can see, I’ve started to work on the smaller buildings that surround them. They certainly dominate the landscape that they’re in.

So, getting the King & Queen towers has been by far and away the more challenging part of this picture. Your typical skyscraper is like a giant rectangular prism, but these buildings are like 5 or 6 rectangular prisms connected to each other. Getting the shading right has been a challenge as a result.
But, that’s the joy of painting! Really improves your hand-eye coordination!
Sandy Springs – Work in Progress
Paintings

For this one, I’m painting a picture of the King & Queen Buildings in Sandy Springs, GA. Sandy Springs is sorta like Manhattan in NYC. It’s a district of Atlanta, in other words.
Enjoy!

So, on the surface, it seems like this picture’s complete. I added the Happy New Year fireworks and everything. But, still one thing remains. I’ll leave you to guess…

So, the most challenging part of this picture was making sure that the skyscrapers in this picture were all proportional to each other.
In layman’s terms, the Bank of America Plaza (big building with a gold top) has to be the tallest building because that’s the tallest building in Atlanta that I know of. It therefore towers or everything else.
One Atlantic Center (pyramidal building to the right of the Plaza) has to be 2nd tallest, but it can’t be TOO much shorter than the Plaza.
COMPLETED – The Perfect Christmas Gift
Paintings
And so we have it: the perfect Christmas gift. Forget about sitting in traffic. This car flies over all of that.
-No need to drive through confusing roads
-No need to worry about crashing
-No need to worry about being late
It’d be wonderful! If it was real.
What inspired this picture? It’s quite simple. Anyone who lives in a car-centric area is more or less dependent on a car for everything. Of course, one of the problems that comes with living in a car-centric place is that you have to navigate badly designed roads and avoid horrible drivers. Anyone who lives in a place like, say, Atlanta, GA in the United States understands this.
A car like this would be the perfect Christmas gift. But, given that the perfect Christmas gift doesn’t exist, there’s no use stressing over getting someone the perfect Christmas gift. There’s no use wishing desperately for the perfect Christmas gift, either.
