I spent quite a bit of time on this plate, and yet, I can’t even remember what species of flowers these are supposed to be…

Anyway, pretty flowers!

Balancing Act

This was just a bit of experimentation with multi-surface paint. I was thinking of Yin and Yang with this plate.

I wanted the design to be as symmetrical as possible.

For this plate, I wanted a sort of flower plate that you could use to decorate your kitchen.

If you look at traditional African dresses, you’ll often notice that they use bold colors like blue, yellow, or purple. They’re gorgeous!

So, I was inspired by traditional African dresses when I painted this plate.

Ah, yes. One of my favorite subjects to paint: the flower. It’s a combination of color and geometry, thanks to the way their petals are balanced.
